There aren't any poker rooms in San Francisco itself. South of San Francisco, in the city of Colma/Brisbane, there is Lucky Chances Casino. Pretty decent action. It's about 10 miles from downtown sf. You can either take a taxi direct or take the BART to Colma station and take a taxi from there. Further south in the san jose area you have the Matrix and bay 101. You'd definitely have to take a. This place is a step up from the local poker rooms back in the bay area. Always has a live game of high stakes poker. I don't play often in casinos, California offers plenty of places to play locally, but I'd return to the Peppermill Poker Room if I found myself in Reno again and was Bucks Up. The Peppermill Poker Room is my favorite.
