PCI slots are included on a motherboard installed in each Acer Aspire netbook. PCI technology has been available since 2007, so any notebook available after that date has a PCI slot installed. The Acer Aspire comes with two PCI slots. PCI slots are marked as white slots, so you can more easily distinguish them from other motherboard slots. You must remove the back cover of your Aspire to upgrade or add cards to the PCI slot or to identify it on your motherboard.
Step 1
Flip the Acer Aspire over so the back of the computer is facing you. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws on each corner of the netbook.
Step 2
Slide the back cover off of the netbook after the screws are removed. With the back cover removed, the netbook's motherboard is exposed.
